Here are 10 common, non-game related questions people ask about Conquest. 1. Where did you come up with the name? We had been calling the game Conquest since the first day that we started to develop it. I don't know where we came up with that, but we just did and it clicked and we never considered changing it. However, as we were getting close to creating the business, we realized that "Conquest" wasn't really unique enough. So we needed to come up with a name for the world. At the time, one of the regions that certain units were named for was "Larthenian" (e.g., Larthenian solder). We thought Larthenian was pretty dumb but Arthenian, or Arthenia, was pretty cool. And the rest is history. 2. Where did you come up with the concept? For that answer, you better read the first several articles in the history section. The short answer is that the basic concept was not much like the game is today, and it took years of refining to get it to this point. 3. How long ago did you create the game? About 8 1/2 years ago. 4. Was it hard? Yes, and it still is. 5. How did you get such cool art? We hired artists from around the world, from amateur to semi-professional. We found great people who were willing to help us for "bargain basement prices" (in the words of one artist). Then we refined, refined, refined their works into their current form. 6. How did you print the game? We hunted down specialty printing companies until we were able to find one that (a) actually printed good stock trading cards and (b) would actually work with us. It was a pain. 7. How much did it cost to print the game? A lot. 8. Are you sponsored, funded, or otherwise "headed up" by some large corporation? Nope, we're three guys. 9. Will you make more sets? If we can get a strong enough following and make enough money, absolutely. The next set is already well in the works. 10. Can I help? Certainly.
